Council decision appointing a new member of the Commission

Baroness Catherine Margaret ASHTON of UPHOLLAND has been appointed member of the Commission for the period from 6 October 2008 to 31 October 2009, following the resignation of Mr Peter MANDELSON.

The decision was taken by the Council by written procedure, concluded yesterday.
